چکیده

In this paper different CFAR detectors for detection of multiple targets for UWB radar system will be described and their outputs compared. The cell averaging CFAR (CA-CFAR) cell averaging with greatest of (CAGO-CFAR), ordered statistics CFAR (OS-CFAR), clutter map CFAR (CMCFAR) and cell averaging CFAR assumed for gamma distributed clutter will be represented. The properties of all detectors will be illustrated by real radar signal processing obtained by the measurement with the M-sequence UWB radar. Keywords— UWB radar, CFAR, order statistics, CM-CFAR

Adaptive Signal Detection in Auto-Regressive Interference with Gaussian Spectrum

A detector for the case of a radar target with known Doppler and unknown complex amplitude in complex Gaussian noise with unknown parameters has been derived. The detector assumes that the noise is an Auto-Regressive (AR) process with Gaussian autocorrelation function which is a suitable model for ground clutter in most scenarios involving airborne radars. The detector estimates the unknown...

A CFAR Circuit of Detecting Spatially Correlated Target for Automotive UWB Radars

Automotive radars for potential accident reduction and for autonomous cruse control were available in 1999, and 77 GHz long-range radars and 24 GHz short-range radars are developing [1]. 79-GHz shortrange automotive radars have a bandwidth of 4 GHz, a maximum range of 30 m, and a range resolution of 5 cm. Radar reception signals often contain unwanted echoes, called “radar clutter.” Moving targ...

A CFAR Circuit with Multiple Detection Cells for Automotive UWB Radars

Future high-resolution short-range automotive radar will have a higher false alarm probability than the conventional low-resolution radar has. In a high-resolution radar, the reception signal becomes sensitive to the difference between intended and unintended objects. However, automotive radars must distinguish targets from background objects that are the same order of size; it leads to an incr...

A Statistical Clutter Suppression Method Based on Given Target-Existence Probabilities for High Resolution UWB Radars

High-resolution radars (HRR) using ultra wideband (UWB) signals is a promising system for various detection and ranging applications. The radar resolution increases as a decrease of the pulse width, then radar echoes including background unwanted ones become spiky. Various modifications of constant false alarm rate (CFAR) and matched filters have been proposed to reduce false alarm induced by u...

Evaluation of Detection Performance under Employment of the Generalized Detector in Radar Sensor Systems

The detection performance of the generalized detector (GD) constructed based on the generalized approach to signal processing in noise is evaluated under homogeneous and non-homogeneous noise. The GD adaptive threshold is derived and defined applying an appropriate noise power estimation using the sliding window technique. The direct close expressions for the GD average probability of detection...
